June 1, 2017 (Sarasota, FL) The Florida Center for Early Childhood, a local nonprofit serving children and their families in Sarasota, Charlotte, Manatee and DeSoto/Hardee counties, received a $45,000 grant from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation.
The Selby Foundation grant will allow The Florida Center to replace the agency’s outdated desktops and laptops, and purchase a new server that will integrate systems across the agency’s four locations in Sarasota, North Port, Arcadia and Port Charlotte. The Selby Foundation specializes in supporting area nonprofits with capital grants including construction, renovation, and equipment or software.
“This grant will help our agency make sure excellence permeates all of our operations and endeavors,” said Charmian Miller, chief financial officer. “Our goal is to utilize the new technology to maximize staff efficiency and productivity by improving communication and streamlining service delivery, billing, and accountability processes.
