The Florida Center for Early Childhood is seeking an individual with passion for serving young children and families. This position is part of a new program known as Early Childhood Court. This program seeks to intensify services for young children and their families early in the judicial process in effort to achieve expedited permanency for these young children. Candidates should have strong foundation in trauma-informed care and the unique needs of very young children.
SUMMARY
The Child Welfare Case Manager (CWCM) must successfully complete the Child Protection Professional training and examination, all field based requirements for certification, and achieve certification within one (1) year of hire date or 1 year from completion of Pre-Service Exam. The CWCM is expected to become proficient in identifying and assessing client and family needs of young children placed in care by The Department of Children and Families due to abuse or neglect by caretakers, with the ultimate goal of permanency. The CWCM evaluates, coordinates and ensures necessary services and/or treatment are provided; completes required assessments; assists individuals and families by using such activities as delineating alternatives, helping to articulate goals and providing needed information. The CWCM has an active role in monthly multidisciplinary staffing meetings and court reviews. Timely, thorough and accurate documentation is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in human services or a related field from an accredited college or university with two (2) years of related experience OR an advanced degree in social work or a comparable human service field. Bilingualism preferred but not required. Valid driver’s license in good standing.
