Did you know a ‘Pandemic Culture’ may cause a shift in specialized services? Have you ever even heard of the term ‘Pandemic Culture’ at all?

In Season 2, Episode 6 of Centering Kids: Advice from the Experts at The Florida Center for Early Childhood, host Kristen Theisen interviews Kim Williams, a speech-language pathologist and The Florida Center’s Director of Development Services, and Tamra Cajo, who heads the agency’s Fetal Alchohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Clinic. The three women discuss how negative environments, or a traumatic disruption in one’s circumstances, I.E. the Covid-19 Pandemic, can significantly affect early childhood development. They explain how future services will be impacted by the “Pandemic Generation” or those children born during the pandemic. The conversation also includes information about the 2nd Annual Mind Matters Symposium on June 22, as both Williams and Cajo will be presenters at the event.

Both Tamra and Kim will be presenting in The Florida Center’s upcoming second annual Mind Matters Symposium. This full-day virtual training features renowned authors & research scholars, Drs. Craig & Sharon Ramey. Every attendee will receive a copy of their book, The Abecedarian Project!

Tamra will give her presentation, Impacted at Birth: The Lifetime Effects of Drugs, Alcohol & Trauma, with Kim Kutch, while Kim Williams will team up with Melissa Cox for The Paradigm Shift in Early Intervention in a Post-Pandemic Setting.
